Things to do
Our location is perfectly suited for your island traveling needs!
We are perfectly situated halfway between Kailua-Kona and Hilo. While these two sides of the island are vastly different from each other, Ocean View lends more towards Kona weather and climate. Think dry, sunny, and hot! Perfect for vacationing.
A 45 minute drive brings you either to the entrance of Volcano National Park where you might be able to see active lava, or to Hōnaunau City of Refuge national park- a beautiful sight to see.
Only 30 minutes away you can stop at Punalu'u black sand beach and check out the many local sea turtles that come to bask on the shore's radiant heat. Or stop at Ho'okena beach for fantastic snorkling!
Have you ever been to the southernmost bar and restaurant in the USA? Stop at Shaka's, the low key restaurant that proudly owns the title. Only 15 minutes away, just make sure you bring cash to this cash-only restaurant.
There are many things to do and see on the beautiful island of Hawai'i
Come and see for yourself why this island became our home away from home.
Please remember to respect the native Hawaiian culture and lands, support local wherever you can and enjoy the spirit of Aloha!
